I'm looking to build a small but elite IG kill team using anvil miniatures. Is it viable to do a non blob list?

Of course it is! Veterans with a chimera will give any player a rough time. Especially with a heavy flamer on the chimera and a melta in the veteran squad.

So it would be a grenadiers type of thing?

Literally this type of list just won our event Saturday.

It was a chimera with gren vets. 2 plasma guns and an auto cannon.

Chimera with vets is probably the strongest list in all of kill-team.

Anyone fancy helping me build one? Anyone know the rules regarding non games workshop conversions in tournaments?

are you allowed to split the squad like that in kill team?

Each Model = a separate unit in Kill team
You could even put fewer in the Chimera ...or all of them
You do not have to put any in the Chimera if you so Choose..

No. Autocannon is really useful as an area denial weapon, and it has two wounds. Autocannons make my life hard in KT, their high strength means you're wounding on 2+'s for most units, including crisis suits, and they can threaten transports.
