Hey, I have been discussing Storm Shields for Imperial Fists as I am making them as my second legion, and the question is - Is it possible to have them with Tartaros terminator armour? Because the wording says "standard terminator armor for 15pts"..10 for cataphractii... And Tartaros probably isn't "standard" terminator armor, is it? Have found somewhere that it should be indomitus, so the 40k one...

Seems obvious to me that tartarus is standard armour since it doesnt specify indomitos or Tartarus.

I don't think I've ever seen anywhere about Tartaros being the default - as such, I'd say it's only available for Cataphractii and Indomitus.

Really cos ive not seen any armour called "standard terminator armour" it seems pretty obvious you have one price for the 5+ invuns and another price for the 4+ invun.
It shouldnt be complicated to intuit that from how the rules are written to be honest

It may be a fluff reason.

If yours was the case, I would expect it to say "Regular terminator armour and Tartaros" - with Tartaros absent and being a unique armour variant in and of itself, I don't think it should be classed as "standard".
Tartaros is as standard as Cataphractii is, to my understanding.

I understand where you are coming from however it seems clear to me that Standard is easily identified as either indomitus or tartarus as there is no standard terminator armour for 30k at all and the only other option the wording gives you is to use a non existant armour mk meaning you couldnt use them on anything but cataphractii. To me the wording needs an interpretation and mine would be that it is simply specifying that you pay less to go from 4+ to 3+ then you do to go from 5+ to 3+.
No where does the writing suggest anything else.

Well, assuming that most people played 40k prior to 30k, 'standard' Terminator armour is 5++ Relentless, Can't Sweep.

In a more game related objection, allowing 3++ Sweepers seems a little OTT. So by that metric, I could understand not including Tartaros.

But it does need an FAQ.
