No, the allied Detatchment is pretty much the smallest thing you can run. It doesn't carry any benefits, and your warlord can't be in this detatchment. But if you want a small list to work alongside a main army, it's useful. If you wanted benefits, you would need another troop choice for a
CAD or a
BSF.
Unbound does not stop you from taking allies, in fact it helps because you're less restricted. It does, however, mean you can't take detachments like an allied detatchment or a
CAD. You can still use formations though.
