Well I went 1-2 at the
FLGS tournament tonight with lonely Ryad, and perhaps most importantly I got completely wrecked in a "mirror match " vs palp/Vessery/ Glaive (both x7 juke).
I really think that lone wolf just pushes me to put ryad in places that it's easier for my opponent to focus on her and kill her (didn’t help that I blanked on the evade dice against a 4 hit attack on a shieldless but evade token Ryad).
So, for regionals on Saturday i can go with either:
=================
DXL (Tournament)
=================
540th Imperial Fighter Squadron
100 points
------
Countess Ryad (36)
TIE Defender (34), Push the Limit (3), TIE/x7 (-2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
Colonel Vessery (38)
TIE Defender (35), Tractor beam (1), Veteran Instincts (1), TIE/D (0), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
“Omega Leader” (26)
TIE/
fo Fighter (21), Comm Relay (3), Juke (2)

This one keeps the tractor beam but loses Stealth on Omega. I'm finding that (with the fickle green dice) I'm losing the Stealth on the first shot (even on my game against Poe, Jake and a HWK, I couldn't keep
OL at range and out of arc... and I very much dislike black one

)
But with Ryad in a position to focus &
TL, I feel like I'll have more freedom to run
OL out of danger instead of trying to keep him relevant to the battle (in
TL range for example)
My other option is to go with double x7s, somewhat limited by the fact that I only have 1 copy of Juke (i could pick up another f/o before Saturday but I don't really want to) like this:
==================
LXX (Tournament)
==================
70th Imperial Fighter Squadron
100 points
------
“Omega Leader” (29)
TIE/
fo Fighter (21), Comm Relay (3), Juke (2), Stealth Device (3)
Countess Ryad (36)
TIE Defender (34), Push the Limit (3), TIE/x7 (-2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
Colonel Vessery (35)
TIE Defender (35), Lightning Reflexes (1), TIE/x7 (-2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

------
With this build I thought lightning reflexes would be a bit better than a single crack shot (though I wish I had time to test it), which is a card i can definitely see being useful in multiples (somewhat like juke on folks other than Omega Leader... but there seems like there are way too many ways for targets to have multiple focus tokens for a single juke to be decisive).
But, in my time with Defenders, there have been a lot of times I have wished for an s-loop at least once in a match...
Thoughts?
