After deciding to collect Iron Hands, I've decided to dig deep into my wallet and have ordered 18 sets of bionic legs, 30 sets of bionic bolter arms a few robotic heads or bionic eyes. However, it's just dawned on me that I may have wasted alot of money, after all the Iron Hands are not complete robots. The question that I'm asking is this, should every marine have the full 9 yards of bionic legs, arms and heads, or should i mix and match the degree to which they are robotic? If so, how much so? ! in 5 with a bionic leg or 1 in 2? All suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Not a waste at all, the Iron Hands loved chopping off body parts and replacing them with bionics the same way that Techpriests do, so every model could have some bionics on it.

If your army is set after Istvaan V then all the more reason to be heavily bionic as the survivors of the dropsite massacre were mauled pretty badly.

I would actually split up the legs and do one robot leg rather than both, I mean that's just my taste. Also, consider chopping up the bionic parts and splicing them into the power armor parts, so a bionic upper arm with an armored gauntlet, same with a lower and upper leg etc, you can basically do a whole army with some bionics based on the parts you have.

Oh I forgot to mention, if want to run the Company of Bitter Iron then you can add lots of cybernetic bits to normal BoP guys, give them boarding shields and run them as Immortals.

I like the after istavaan idea, and I have 12 of them with just one bionic leg and 6 with both of the legs bionic, is that an OK ratio?

They're you're models, so knock yourself out!

After Istavaan and Manus' Death, some really took to heart "The flesh is week". Perhaps your war party of loyalists ritualistically replace limbs with bionic ones? A right of passage for veterans that have killed traitor marines?

Some tactical squads might have a handful, but veteran tactical squads might all have bionics.

Sorry Battle Brother Smith! You are only 34.72% cybernetic, and entrance into the Veteran Company requires 42.3% augmentation. Your flesh is weak! Try again in six standard months or you may apply when you have received over 60% in cybernetic augments.

Well like most are saying, its your army, so do what you think is cool.

I have most of an IH army built, and mine cover both ends of the spectrum. The veterans and heavy weapons have the most bionics, while the run of the mill Marines have very little, and some have none except for the hands of course.

I'm thinking the same tbh. I'll spread it out but give all of them the left iron hand.
