I'm interested in getting into Dark Eldar, and playing using the following:
Talos, Cronos, Grotesque and Homonculus models. I think they are very much what I am looking to play -- big, ugly, abominations! I'm not really into the whole look and feel of "Eldar"/ elves, so I'm trying to find a way to best make a list around 1000 points or so where I can use as many big ugly things, and as few "elf-looking" gribblies...
That being said, These formations really look nice, but I'm not quite sure the best ways to make them work:
1) Corpsethief Claw - one giant unit of Talos... sounds awesome. I suppose I could join the squad with a separate Homonculus and maybe use the webway portal to deep strike them up the field? How have people found success with this formation? Include the ranged weapons, etc/ seems pretty good...
2) Grotesquerie - This caught my eye because I could put 2 of them, an abberation and a homonculus in a raider (with enhanced aether sails?) to rocket them up the board)
The big issue I'm finding is that I really would like to get 1-2 extra Homonculus models in there (maybe with the Corpsethief Claw and with the second unit of Grotesques in the raider?) but don't wanna be stuck with the troops from a CAD because they don't seem that great... Any thoughts on this stuff? There's also the Cronos, maybe following up behind the Talos formation and boosting their FnP? (So maybe the Scarlet Epicureans formation to get some of this stuff?)
Any and all help is appreciated! Not looking to be super competitive, but I'd like it to all work and fit and NOT be unbound... Thanks in advance! Automatically Appended Next Post: I'm starting out thinking something like this?
Corpsethief Claw
Talos x5 - (upgrades?)
Grotesquerie
Grotesques (3) - aberration w/ scissorhand, raider w/sails
Grotesques (3) - aberration w/ scissorhand, raider w/sails
Homonculus - sindriq's stump
Scarlet Epicureans
Homonculus - crucible // joins the other Grotesque unit
Cronos // just follows the corpsethief claw around boosting their fnp?
Wracks unit x2 (how to recommend making these good?)
