Hello there guys, I was wondering if people could help me out explaining to my friends about the slayer ruling.
The slayers deathblow rule isn't particularly clear in terms of how it's done.
So my main question is if you run the unit 5 wide and 4 deep and let's say the enemy kills 12 models, how many deathblows do I get?
Is it 12? Or only 5? Or none at all? Please explain your answer.
I've tried to sort this issue out on Bugmans brewery but it won't let me log in and is not sending the confirmation email :/

Thank you for looking

Only models which are in a legal position to attack get to make a death blow. Which would be either 2 ranks or 3 depending on the width of the unit.

I think it is 2 ranks basic, I'm a bit rusty on my WHFB.

Well the wording is a bit confusing, this is what it says

If a model with this special rule is reduced to 0 wounds by close combat attacks or stomps, he can immediately make a single deathblow attack before he is removed as a casualty. A deathblow attack can be resolved against any enemy unit in base contact and, it's unusual sequencing aside, is resolved exactly like a normal close combat attack (and therefore uses any special rules that would normally apply to the models close combat attacks). If a model with the deathblow special rule is slain in a a challenge, his deathblow attack must be directed at the opposing model in the challenge. Once the deathblow has been resolved, remove the model as a casualty and resolve the rest of the combat (including anymore deathblows).
