No HTH units here, just pure shoot em up. HQ: Master w/ storm bolter Retinue: 7 bolter marines, 2 plasma gun, + apothecary to save those plasma guns that blow up in your face Troop: 1. 9 bolter + 1 plasma in rhino (Extra Armor & smoke) 2. 5 bolter + lascannon (not enough ponts to get the plas) Fast 3 squads of 1 landspeeder tornado Heavy: Pred Des w/ side HB, Extra Armor, Smoke & Searchlight to use up that 1 extra. point that was left over.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

if you have the points for this after 3 tornados and a pred then you have the points for 3x 6 man las/plas squads and then you can spend some more points making your master a HtH monster and save him back with a jump pack and maybe some LC's and use for counter assault.

Dear Whiny Space Marine Players, you get 3+ armor saves on all your troops (save scouts), Assault cannons, a huge assortment of vehicles and weapons, arguably one of the best if not THE best tank in the game, funny helmets, and a partrige in a pear tree.
suck it up, space marines. You're the emperor's chosen superhuman warriors. stop whining like a guardsmen and take it like a superman! |

but then it would be just shooty not shooooooty. Do you think the pred is overkill though? Maybe better off with another las/plas squad?

my point is that a master with a storm bolter isn't very uber, while useful for the LD10 you'll be better off tooled for combat and used as counter-assault which is going to be a weakness for this list. and 3x6 man las plas should be the basis of most marine armies. in smaller point games a single high AV vehicle and be deadly when your opponent forgets to include anti-tank weaponry or cannot include much b/c of the point limit or assumes that noone will bring high AV b/c of the point limit. you're already highly mobile and shooty with the pred and speeders. you'll get even more shooty with 3 las/plas squads and the best use for your last points would probably a counter-assault unit. since you have to take an HQ at this point lvl and a librarian would be pretty expensive as would a chaplain a hth master is a good choice. you don't have to do that if you don't want to but it keeps your list from being completely 1 dimentional and gives you a big punch if you get swarmed by a 20 ork mob or a 12 genestealer brood.
