I think this fits here?

Just wrote a review for the rerelease of space hulk, and thought I'd share.

But, will get more views here. Excellent review! Not too fanboy, not too harsh. With a fresh outlook that pretends to ignore that this is the third and fourth remake of a 26 year-old game. Well done!

It really takes an active imagination (and probably a personality disorder) to NOT like this edition of a classic game. One could always want more. But, GW settled for nothing less than excellent. These versions of the game (Third and Fourth edition) are completely self-contained, requiring no expansions. And, they managed to include the "best of " previous expansions (expanded weapons, specialists, and simplified, workable Psychics). OK, maybe, with the release of the 40K Genestealer Cult, one might wish for an expansion that includes the Cult goodness from the Genestealer expansion. But, one might also recall that those rules were less than perfect. I already own a new GSC army, so don't need the models. I can find the expansion rules from the Internet (OK, who am I kidding, I've owned the original Genestealer and Deathwing expansions since they went on sale). But, what would be super-spiffy is the tiles from those expansions redone for this edition. Oh, and some Hard Core Genestealer Cult cinematic action.

And, yes, I currently have on my painting table an all new Burning of Prospero plastic Mk III "Iron Armor" squad in Blood Angel colors, expressly destined for Space Hulk.

Obsession is to Passion as Need is to Want.

Re: ignoring the remake, not sure what you mean? I referred to the older editions a few times...

And yeah, GSC/DW:OK is ripe for a crossover promotion, assuming it were executed well (I don't really know anything about the previous incarnation other than seeing some stats someone dug up somewhere or other). A bit surprised they didn't take the opportunity to update them (yet?), but since I really hated the remake to Lost Patrol, it's entirely possible they'd screw that one up, too, so, I'm not horribly disappointed it doesn't exist, since nothing might still be better than actively bad.
