Ok, so I have the self control of a 5 year old dosed up on red cordial and got myself the Sylvaneth battleforce as it's almost 50% retail and damnit it's got some fine models.

Coupled with an unopened SC! box, I've got a decent 36 model force to build up in the new year. I do need to ask Dakka (as I'm divided on this) what to build the tree/spite revenants as and what weapons do I give the kurnoth hunters?

For tree/spite revenants, do I make 1 unit of 10 tree or spite revenants, or 2 units of 5 -one of each type?

For the kurnoth hunters, I like all of their weapon options, particularly the melee options (greatswords and scythes are pure win) but I feel that some ranged support is needed. Would I be able to get by with one unit of bows and one of greatswords (or scythes). Might grab one more box in the future so I can have one of each option.

So far I've got an idea for a colour scheme, using light yellow to deep greens, off-whites/bone and muted brown-greys with any blooms and such being blue or yellow.

Thanks in advance

This is where I'd put my signature...If I had one!

Why not just use the old trusty "Counts As" for the models that share the same sprues?

Honestly you could just pick whatever you like.

Yet, you should pick choosing your deployed units on what do you want to play: Spites need more scenery than Trees, and the Trees also have better weapons.

Now, Kurnoth Hunters are always welcomed as ranged units; 30'' and that damage output is comaprable to artillery.
Swords are more consistent, scythes can inflict more damage if the dice likes you.

Also consider if you want to deploy battalions and which ones to build the respective units. The simplier is the Household: 1 Treelord, 1 Branchwych and 1 unit of Tree-revenants, but you should check out the others on your own.

Finally you could check out the Sylvaneth painting guide or the old Wood Elves painting guide to get some ideas for your color schemes.

That's just my opinion, hope it can help you!

An idea I'm doing is giving my Tree/Spite revs one Spite claw and then the weapon of a Tree rev. Along with that they get a Spite face with Tree "hair". That way the only thing I'll have to magnetize is the pipes and the banner. Otherwise the units will look like a blend of both and I can just tell my opponent what it actually is.
