It's a cold, dark, and snowy Monday up here in Alaska. But nothing warms the soul like a brand-new Glacial Geek Battle Report! https://youtu.be/zeZF0K5tBg8 This week I take on the Eldar! When an Imperial planet falls to a xenos invader there is an immediate response from Terra. Forces are quickly dispatched to reclaim what is rightfully the Emperor's. So when Eldar forces take over an Imperial planet, the Dark Angels are dispatched to take it back. Will the First Legion be able to cleanse this planet of the xenos forces, or will the Craftworld forces be too much for the Unforgiven? Watch and find out!

Another great batrep! That sieze roll can be such a game-changer. If you had gone second, sure he would have lost a turn of shooting, but you would've been facing an uphill battle. As it was, your alpha strike was amazingly potent, wiping probably over 1/3 of his army before he even got to move. I might have to try running some of my DA models as "green marines" so that I can try out some of those formations (I don't have good models to do Skyhammer though).

Also, those Eldar models were really nice looking!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2025: 48 | Total models painted in 2026: 12 | Current main painting project: Tomb Kings

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

Yeah, definitely benefited from that seize! That really let me get a good head start in the game. I really see no problem in running "Green Marines" with the formations. So long as you take chapter tactics instead of Grim Resolve there's no problem really!

But yeah, his army is beautiful! :-)

Question, in the opening salvo of the battle report don't you count as moving after disembarking from the drop pod, therefore gravcannons only can shoot 12" with 3 shots since they are salvo 24" 3/5?

The special rules for the Skyhammer Annihilation Force says that on the first turn they arrive from deep strike, the Devastator Squads have Relentless which means they can fire their heavy weapons and salvo weapons as though they hadn't moved :-)

Thanks for the quick reply! That is insanely brutal, obviously as seen in the bat rep. Good video consider myself subscribed!
