Seeing as how The last knight is rearing its head like a dismembered, planet eating machine, voiced by a frozen peas spokesmen, I thought I might take the liberty to post something about a Transformers movie which has all but been forgotten. NO, I'm not talking about the 1986 film.

The second season of the Transformers cartoon in 1985 featured an episode; 'Hoist goes Hollywood'
In this episode, Hoist; the autobots mechanic, becomes part of a film crew after saving two stunt drivers after he and the needless human sidekicks [something every transformers cartoon seems to have] drive onto a movie set.

Soon after, some other Autobots are jealous of Hoist's impending stardom and decide to gate crash the studio.
The Director [who is never named] hires the Autobots YET he never uses any of them at their full potential. All he seems to want to do is film crap no one will ever want to see. At one point, the script calls for Tracks [a flying corvette] to thwart a bank robbery by flying directly into the bank.
Shortly after that, the director makes the Autobots wear fugly monster masks and goose step around the studio as part of a Flash Gordon ripoff.

The Decepticons begin raiding the studio as Dirge [the blue jet who isn't Thundercracker] crashed into the swamp with one of Wheeljacks stupid inventions. Although the Director see's some of the robot battles, all he wants to do is make crap instead.

Basically, this episode is about an egotistic, halfwit of a director who would rather make a film about nonsense than a film about robots that turn into things.
I had this episode on VHS when I was a kid. I had no choice but to like it as it was the only Transformers episode I had and as I got older, I hated it more and more. But in the past few years, I've found it very hilarious in an ironic way.

Was this the only one he saw before making the movies, you think?
