Heya. Been looking at making a different Chaos Daemons competitive list based on the 6 ITC missions. We have a GT coming up within a couple weeks and I'm looking to round out the last bit of my daemon force. Below is the list.

First thing is first. The meta here consists of multiple Eldar players with scatbikes and CC Wraithknights, literally almost identical builds with FW Warp Hunters sprinkled in; Tau with varying armies based around Ripwing with or without FW Riptide deliciousness; Ravenwing full of plasma goodiness complimented by a knight and culexus assassin and the odd Ork, GC and Deathwatch with Draigo and friends. The guy that normally wins/places high is a White Scars player with grav everywhere and lots of Razorbacks and shooting in general.

I fell in love with the Murderhorde formation, which I consider the best one from WZ: Fenris. It's a VERY solid core. Given that most bigger tournament scenes promote mobility and board control, what better than 41x Flesh Hounds? I tried different variations but it came down to msu squads of dogs filling all 8 slots. I finally pinned it down to the above list after playing different variations. That being said I added the next fast and even faster bit to compliment them, the Screamers. The dogs tie up infantry/etc while the Screamers zip around corrupting all the objectives, harassing units with their slash attacks or eating vehicles. Most bases are covered.

Now, this is where I become indecisive. I have 2 Hekdrakes to round out the remainder, BUT...I'm not sure if that is most viable for me. I feel like I need something that hits hard to take down WKs, Riptides and other big nasties. At this point some of you might wonder why Fateweaver isn't in here. I've used him and he's definitely great, but there is no grimoire let alone a unit worth buffing in this list. That leaves him a solitary mind bullet gunship. I can't see him making his points back in this list and it isn't built in a way that supports him either. All that being said there are a few other things in mind and this is where I'm seeking some help/suggestions.

The D-Thirster is definitely a solid choice, but being one big model all it takes is a few lucky D shots and it's like he didn't exist. Namely thanks to the Warp Hinters and grav overload from the resident white scars player. I, however, am optimistic about him as that was opinions from a fellow player. This list capitalizes on target priority saturation and having a scary model like the d-thirster makes it even worse. The only thing I can think of is flying him while turbo-boosting Screamers to assault the Warp Hunters turn 2 and wrecking them or tying up whatever unit it is that's threatening him with dogs or what have you. That's best case scenario IF I go first and he isn't pelted and wiped off the board in one go.

Only thing I can think of when he's facing certain doom turn 1 is putting him in deepstrike, giving the Herald the oracular dais and ensuring he arrives on turn 2. He's swooping and by the time he drops most things I deem threatening are tied up by a bunch of dogs/Screamers and he can go to whatever and wreck face.

Or, maybe y'all have a better idea. That's mine! Thanks for reading.

looks like a tough list to me but if you face a flying circus your screwed as your heldrakes won't cut it. WK will still be tough to take down in melee with this list as well. should be super fun to play though just not sure how competitive it is. it will definitely stomp alot of lists out there.

While I'm the only resident daemon player, a flying circus wouldn't concern me any. It's VERY low model count and anything they may summon I can handle easily enough. The weight of bodies alone I can either out dice most opponents or simply tie them up, mostly in the case of the Wraithknight, which I have done quite successfully before. Little else I know has the sheer mobility or high model count that this does.

Only thing I'd be concerned with is the Bark Bark Star, which I got to watch in action today. I played tau today with 1500 against his 1850 and got him to concede by end of turn 2. Only had the 3 riptides left by the end.

A small CAD with a couple of tzeralds and some blue horrors? Adds to the horde overload so they should be free to summon for a few turns, and the obsec horrors synergize well with your incursion corrupting the objectives

Fully Painted Armies: 2200pts Orks 1000pts Space Marines 1200pts Tau 2500pts Blood Angels 3500pts Imperial Guard/Renegades and 1700pts Daemons 450pts Imperial Knights

The list is good, however there are couple of things to recommend, first drop helldrakes put Kairos in and paradox on herald (it helps a lot to have str D shooting plus more dices plus warpstorm table control ).

And i would suggest if you want to screw with people not to go murder pack but demonetts formation, here are reasons mask negate deathstars and she can dance on FMC to drop it down , demonetts are not resilient as dogs but have rending and that means dead WK, and as speed goes they are fast enough.

I will not share how to fill rest of points as thats secret but with list i said i did 79/80 points and played vs 2 Eldars (1 with 3 WK and 1 with 2, 20 0 wins vs both)

Hmm, that's an interesting suggestion. How big did you run the daemonette squads? Msu's or full 20 man squads?
