Seasonal holiday salutations!

I've ordered the models to build the following list. I plan on running it as-is, perhaps with shuffling of wargear and other minor changes. My question for you all is to advise on opposing lists that would pose serious problems in ITC format games. I foresee flyer spam, knight spam and av14 spam as being a little tricky to deal with, as well as the standard grav-pod shenanigans, but I'm certain there are more counters than those. Without further ado:

TripTide - 660
-3x Gatling, SMS, EWO, Stims

Tau CAD - 676
-Fireblade
-2x Crisis w/ single Missile Pod
-2x XV109 w/ EWO, Stims

Eldar CAD - 512
-Autarch w/ Spidey-senses
-2x3 Jetbikes naked
-Sasquatch w/ 1 Scatter Laser

Total - 1848

The basic idea is to have the TripTide wing be the anchoring force with the Autarch keeping everything small in reserves as long as possible, as they're really there just to sneak onto objectives later on. The 109's and the Skathatch can start either on the board or in DS reserve as they do their best work up close and personal. The resulting feeling of futility and despair my opponents feel when they see what they're up against will help win above the board as well

I like this list, i run Tau myself and always wanted to ally in some Eldar to mix things up a little.

Few thing i can see id change -

Missile pods off the suits - like you said there to hold objective late game and at bs3 without markerlights there arnt going to help.

Scatter laser off the WK.

4 scatterlasers added to the bikes and ion accelerator added to a tide in the wing - gives you a good interceptor weapon and long range ap2 which this list lacks.

What you running on the WK? Lance or Cannon? I feel theres enough infantry killing with hailfire bursts and fw tides, so id probably go for lance.

I dig your suggestions! I can totally see how the points I have in missile pods are better spent in scatter lasers!

I've used the IonTide before and have always been underwhelmed by them. Between the Nova Charged BurstTides and the 109's, I figure I've got enough AP2 when I'll need it.

The WK is actually a Skathatch, so it's got those dope spider cannons, which can also help out versus 2+ armor in a pinch.

So some changes I implemented are to switch the missiles on the suits for flamers, dropping the scatter laser from the WK and making one unit of bikes into Scat Bikes. Thinking about it though, dropping the flamers in order to have two scatter lasers in each bike squad may be the best move...

Yeah i like the changes for the scatterbikes.

Maybe try out the lances on Skatach, 6-10 ap2 melta shots a turn on knight heavy lists and other WKs may give the edge instead of trying to rely on rends and 6's to wound on the ap2 fw tide flamers. Id love to have the models and play test this.

having scatt lasers on the WK lets you shoot the big gun at stuff further away and scatt a unit at your feet ready to charge. one ion cannon to intercept a unit DS in a lovely circle is always nice

I ran this list all year and did quite well, I think my tournament run was something like 32-1-4 overall.

my differences were a sword and board WK and a farseer always going for invis for the WK. Also I only have flamers on the suits for points and the bikes all had scats.

you will make some people mad being it's quite competitive.

having played it a year I'd say the skathach is a better choice.

I aren't think that.

Don't forget that the Autarch's reserve roll can't be used on anything except Eldar and Dark Eldar. And since no one ever believes me, I'll just quote it right here:

From BRB "Allies of Convenience"
"Cannot use modifiers and re-rolls that apply to Reserve Rolls that are granted by an Allies of Convenience model."

And with that specific restriction, you'd need a specific permission in the Autarch's rule that directly calls out this rule. "In your army" isn't good enough to override the restriction.
