I'm a real novice at converting models, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of the best models in the AoS or 40K lines for converting into blitzers and blockers for the Orc team in Blood Bowl? I'm sure GW will have booster packs at some point or will release the team separately, but I wouldn't mind a little modelling project to keep me going until then.

As mentioned in the other thread, I plan to use the Blorcs that come in the BB set as Blitzers then get Orc Brutes to use as Blorcs.

I don't know how well the sizing will work out though. I haven't bought any Brutes yet, I only plan on doing it if my gaming group picks up BB long term, if they don't then I'll just get by with the models that come in the box.

Another option is get some extra linemen, remove the spikes from any lineman that you intend to use as a lineman, then any linemen that are left with spikes, call them blitzers instead (and maybe use coloured bases to identify who's who.

Models with 40mm bases like Ogres or Trolls can be placed well on the new gaming mat.

Black orks are essentially Nobz from the 40k range, Brutes would be too big imo. Blitzers are just more heavily armoured boyz.

I think 40k Nobz are aesthetically too different for my liking.

Brutes aren't a hell of a lot bigger than Nobz anyway, there's a comparison at the end of this thread...

They stand more upright, making them a bit taller but not really any bulkier.

I'd like to see a Brute next to a BB Blorc though for comparison, because at the end of the day it doesn't matter how it looks next to non-BB models.

I used brutes for black orcs, also used the savage orc big boss as a blitzer. I'm very happy with the results.

Reckon you'd be able to take a comparison pic of the Brutes next to the standard BB Black Orcs? I'd love to see how the size compares before I pay $85AUD for a box of Brutes

They're bigger but the BB Black orc is crouched a lot, I used the BB Black Orc as a Blitzer anyway as I bought a whole box of brutes I wanted to use them.
4 of them are Black Orcs and one is a blitzer.

Thanks for the pics! So it seems the Brutes are about the same size as the Blorc, though the Blorc is a little bit hunched over and has chunkier looking shoulder pads and a stance that actually makes him look broader.

So do you only get 2 non-weapon holding hands in the Brute box?

Yep theres 2 but 1 holding a severed head as well so 3. Thats 3 more than any other kti I can find though lol.
