basically im entering into a league which is starting at 500pts. im not the most fluent in the game by far but i have got over 2000pts worth in models which ive just brought and painted up over the last few years only having a hand of games along the way.

i was just wondering if someone could give me some ideas of what to go with as list building is certainly not my strong point haha

many thanks

Well, in small pt games you need numbers.

My general plan for a 500 point list is something like this:

Low cost HQ
Full tac squad (in a rhino normally)
5 man scout squad
<fun unit>

With formations there are a lot of different things you can do these days. I just like the old fashioned CAD to make a balanced list. But the 2 troop picks eat up a lot of the points.

What models you have and like will have a big impact on what kind of list you end up with.
