So my local store is hosting a kill team campaign, and it's encouraged to try something new that you don't normally run. I've decided I want to do a pure Death Company kill team, but I'm not exactly sure how to kit it out. This is what I have:

Death Company x6
-4 power swords w/ bolt pistols
-2 chain swords w/ bolt pistols
-All have jump packs.

What worries me is my model count. I'm wondering if I should cut down some of the power weapons to allow a few more marines into the fray. Idk tho since I've never played with Death Company, let alone Space Marines, ever. Any help/ input would be appreciated!

In theory the power swords are great since no one in kt will get an armour save. But dc have quite a few attacks as it is and will most likely still get kills that way tbh. Get some more bodies. If you have some spare points at the end, but not enough for another guy, then get upgrades. Maybe try 8 guys, with one guy getting a power weapon? That will run you 199 points.

I have been using death company for kill Team at the local game shop I play at and they are really effective. Looking at your list it really depends on what armies you may or may not be going against. If you are facing a lot of armies where the best they can get is a 4+ save then i would suggest the power swords. However if you play a lot of other space marine players where everyone one gets a 3+ save the power swords are just wasted points. In my experience more guys is usually better in kill team. My suggestion would be this:

Death Company x8
-7 with chain swords and bolt pistols
-1 with power sword and bolt pistol

This list gives you two extra guys to either attack with or capture objectives with which can make a break a game when you are working with so few models. If you are looking doe exclusively Death company i say that might be your best bet, but if you have some flexibility. my personal favorite is this list:

Death company x5
-all with chain swords and bolt pistols
Assault Marines x5
-all with chain swords and bolt pistols

You get 10 guys with a lot of mobility who can do some real damage, and then when those final turns come you can jump pack onto as many objectives as you can and snatch up victory. Hope some of this helps good luck fellow BA player!
