I recently got my 1000pts worth of light infantry imperial guard fully assembled and ready to paint... so last night I painted up a test figure. The theme is that the guard have infiltrated into a building/warehouse - each guard has a completely unique industrial style base, with diamond plate floors, techy looking bits (thanks to a bag full of old ertl star wars model kits), tubes, pipes, etc.
They also all have shortened lasguns, that would be easier to use in a confined area.
So, here he is...

I'm not really happy with the face, but I didn't want to use my super nice Series 7 brushes, so I had to make do with a larger brush and improvised.
Should I take the highlights up farther, into the orange spectrum? I generally like to keep my highlighting subtle, but it might be too subtle on this guy. The base red is VGC Scar Red, over black. Then highlighted with VGC Gory Red, and then highlighted again with really thin
GW Blood Red.
Thoughts, comments? Either or both would be highly appreciated
