So after Wrath of Magnus release it seems so that nobody is taking about the Tetrad anymore?

I know about the Oracles Formation, but i don't like them that much. Sure you can only take Fatey + one LOC, but the LOC is only a good Beatstick with Robes. So if you are going to take more than one, the other (s) are not that good, as they lack the survivablity and don't have the psychic diversability a Tetrad has.

So enough talk about that, for myself i will build a tetrad list (cause i like them more and i already have the models ^^).

I have some questions reagarding to the Tetrad and some models i have =).

1) Which Warpstorm do you use (WoM Warpstorm or the "normal" one)?

2) With Horrors losing Malefic but gaining the new split Rule, how important or good do you find them in your armies?

3) In my current Build i want to play a Warpflame- Host with 1 Herald + 8 Exalted Flamers, but i only have the normal Flamers of Tzeentch. Do you think that someone will not allow me to play them as Exalted Flamers in a Tournament?

4) Are there Alternatives to the new Horrors, as i don't really like to buy a ton of Blue and Brimstone Horrors to play my 30 Pink Horrors?

5) With WoM do you think that other Formations, then the Oracles, can or will be used in a Tetrad list?

6) With Traitors Legion, do you think that some CSM will show up in our Builds. Maybe Iron Warriors CAD with Oblits? Or Alpha Legion Lost and Damned Formation?

So here are my two current army ideas, hope they are somewhere decent for tournament armies.

First is Tetrad Build + Warpflame Host.

Chaosdaemons: DAEMONIC INCURSION DETACHMENT (COTW): START - 1845 Points

: Warpflame Host (CotW) - 520 Points
*************** 10 HQ ***************
Herold of Tzeentch
+ Paradoxon -> 25
- - - > 70

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch
- - - > 50

: Daemon Flock (CotW) - 30 Points
*************** 1 Fast Attack ***************
5 Chaosfurien
- - - > 30

: Infernal Tetrad (CotW) - 1295 Points
*************** 4 HQ ***************
Daemonprince, Daemon of Khorne, Daemonic Flight, 2 x Greater Rewards
+ Skullreaver -> 30
- - - > 270

Daemonprince, Daemon of Nurgle, Daemonic Flight, 1 x lesser Reward, 2 x Greater Rewards, ML 3
- - - > 325

Daemonprince, Daemon of Slaanesh, Daemonic Flight, 1 x lesser Reward, 2 x Greater Rewards, ML 3
+ Souleater -> 20
- - - > 340

Daemonprince, Daemon of Tzeentch, Daemonic Flight, 1 x lesser Reward, 2 x Greater Reward, ML 3
+ Impossible Robe -> 25
- - - > 360

Chaosdaemons: DAEMONIC INCURSION DETACHMENT (COTW): END

Points : 1845

If i should need armour on my Princes i could remove the two lesser Rewards on the Slannesh and Nurgle Prince and buy the Slannesh Prince armour. Skullreaver on the Khorne Prince can be replaced with Armour of Scorn. I only have to get 5 Points for a lesser Reward so he can take the Axe of Khorne. Maybe i kick the Souleater on the Slannesh Prince.
My only concern, beside List efficiency is that i have to use Flamers of Tzeentch as my Exalted Flamers and i have to proxy the furies with some D&D Gargoyle Figures.

My second List is a Tetrad + Alpha Legion Lost and Damned

Same Tetrad as above+

Lost and Damned (Alpha Legion)
4x10 Cultists
1 Dark Apostle

Here i have about 200 points left to fit some other things in my army.

Looking forward to some answers=).

I think the Infernal Tetrad isn't talked about much, as it's not the new hotness anymore. Plus, after playing a bunch of games with it, I think it's a good, probably even effective formation, but not highly competitive [at least, not compared to some other formations].

One of the difficulties with the IT is that, outside of Endurance or a few Rewards, they can't get Eternal Warrior, and they all go back to T5 once one of them goes down.

As well, the Khorne Prince is the weak link in the chain - he can't shoot [outside a few Rewards] and he has to land to assault, making him vulnerable. It's difficult to protect him [even with Armour of Scorn] enough, unless you roll Endurance/Invisibility/[that warlord trait that gives WL +1 invul].

But I'm still tinkering with the Tetrad, looking for ways to make it - and the Daemonic Incursion in general - work.

Now I'm experimenting with using a cheap Keeper of Secrets as a distraction to keep the Khorne Prince alive on the ground long enough to make it into combat.

As for the Warp Storm, well, I don't have the Wrath of Magnus book myself, but from the forum posts I've read here on Dakka, it says it's optional.

For the Pink Horrors, I'm not so sure on. I think that in a casual game with friends [or even most pickup games], your opponent won't care if you stick with the Daemons Codex Horrors. But if you want to take them to a tournament, you'd definitely want to ask the organizer. If they do want you to use the new PH rules, ask them if you can use base-size tokens to represent the new models.

Similarly, if you converted the Flamers to be bigger and bulkier, they'd likely work out fine.

I feel the new formations from WoM could definitely benefit a Daemonic Incursion list when taken alongside it - I don't think they can be included IN a DI detachment, just on the side. Additional Psyker levels always helps get key powers off, as well as more chances to get Cursed Earth [except from new PHs].

With the Tetrad, it's such an expensive formation for 4 models that you HAVE to keep them all alive as long as possible. Give the Khorne prince Armor of Scorn every time, it's helped me so much. Survivability is more important than the occasional D hit, because as soon as you lose one prince, the rest are harder to keep alive and it goes downhill from there. Keep the Khorne prince alive, play smart with it. Advance outside of LOS, jump from terrain to terrain, etc. Do NOT forget about reducing the strength of incoming hits, it's so good.

Khorne prince is the biggest target at range.

Nurgle prince without armor is the biggest target in melee. If you don't give this one armor and it's caught on the ground, it can die fast. It won't always, but it can. A 2+ jink doesn't help in close combat. You can keep him in the air if you want, but he's my biomancy guy, he's the one running the ground war for me.

I keep Tzeentch and Slaanesh in the air, with Slaanesh coming down when the enemy is weak enough to finish off fast. Never forget to get the Lash for a greater reward on Slaanesh, it's especially good on a biomancy Slaaneshi prince but you do you on that front. I usually try to deep strike Slaanesh next to something that's harder to crack open or that's on the opposite side of the field from Khorne.

Greater rewards are mandatory, 2 on all princes. That ties in to the survival aspect of the formation. Lesser rewards are less important than things that help survival, such as armor.

The core I typically use for an Incursion is the Tallyband, using 5-6 units of nurglings and 1-2 units of plaguebearers. This combination works really well as it's a cheap core formation that denies overwatch on units it contains, and charging one of these units before charging your Khorne prince at the same target means Khorne is in combat free of suppressing fire. Shrouded is great in terrain, and this further reinforces the survivability of your whole army.

For psychic powers, I really really recommend sticking with telepathy and biomancy. Tzeentch also does a lot of work with the Tzeentch primaris. People expect daemons to do nothing but summon, but with this formation eating up 2/3 of your points, you want to keep these models alive. Biomancy and greater rewards and survivability artifacts are how you achieve this.

As to your questions:

1) I don't know what is in the WoM warpstorm, sorry :/

2) For a tetrad list, I don't find them necessary to begin with. If you're not using WoM for anything else, most people would be fine with you using the codex version instead, I think.

3) You'll always have to check with each and every TO, every time, because some will, some might not.

4) Do you mean alternate models to buy or alternate models to play entirely? If the latter, the Nurgle core choice is solid, but if you're sold on Tzeentch, then exalted flamers are probably just as fine. But again, if you're using nothing else from Wrath of Magnus, just say you're using the codex and CotW datasheets.

5) Other formations from WoM probably complement the Tetrad less than formations from CotW, considering things like the Tallyband add a lot more bodies for your opponent to have to deal with. A full flying circus is probably solid, though.

6) Maybe, but you need to have a purpose in mind for them and that purpose needs to be something that they do better than daemons.

Also, did I miss a datasheet in CotW or something? This is like the second list I've seen put out with Furies costing 30 points in the past month or so but I'm pretty sure they're 35.

Thank you for your help=).

I will put the Armour of Scorn on the Khorne Prince, as it seems better than the Axe.

Regarding to the Exalted Flamers. I meant that i only have the Flamers of Tzeentch Models (aka normal Flamers, nobody uses in tournament play most of the time) and my question was if i could use them as Exalted Flamers, cause i don't want to buy 9 Burning Chariot Kits.
