Hey dakka, I am looking for some resources on the markings that Raven Guard use.

I have done a bit of research on Raven Guard company markings, but I can't find any.

I hear from some that the shoulder trim color indicates company (for example, red is the third company)

I have also heard color denotes squad type (green for Tactical, red for assault, yellow for Devastator.

Which one is correct? I want to do the second company, I have seen painted models with a gold trim indicating company, is this the case?

Please site your source, because most arguments I have seen haven't mentioned them.

Thanks!
~Mikey

There was a time when they showed some of them as having the color being the Squad type marker, but now days the Color on their trim denotes their Company. The Second Company does have Gold/Yellow trim and they feature heavily in the pictures from the Kauyon book.

It was the third edition Raven Guard Index Astartes article that had the trim denoting the squad type, but GW's been ignoring that since the fourth edition codex. I think the current codex explicitly states that the colour denotes the company.
