Hi there,

after a quite long 40K timeout the releases of the more exotic factions (AdMech and Genestealer Cults) in the last year eventually brought me back to 40K. As I'm captivated by the models and the fluff of the Adeptus Mechanicus, I've started building a small Explorator force. So far the fundamental idea is to use the existing Skitarii/Cult Mechanicus range and to create the 'explorator-fleet vibe' by replacing the Skitarii Alphas and Cult Mechanicus characters with kit-bashed/converted Explorators and Magos Explorators. Starting point for this project is Arch-Magos Octavian Vossk, Explorator Prime (Tech-Priest Dominus) of Explorator Fleet NCC/1701-D. :

For the lower-ranking Explorators I'm planning to use Solar Auxilia Flamer Section models carrying heavy sensor arrays and sporting transparent bubble-helmets as well as mechadendrites. But those bubble-helmets are giving me headaches. I've tried to use the ones from Mantic's Martians but sadly they are to small. Does anybody know a good way to build/get those helmets?

Cheers

Cool concept and a good start! Blue moon makes a range of spacemen with plastic helmets. You might convince them to sell you some separately if you asked nicely and bought enough. Or you could buy the figures that come with them and use them as Mechanicus flunkies.

Thanks a lot, that's what I'm looking for! Just hope the shipping to europe is not too expensive/complicated (if they agree to sell them separately)...
