Hey fellas, so I have been turning the thought of using Cawl in a War Con. My question is where the heck does he fit in? Assuming taking him you will not be able to take a supplemental force ( Lib Conclave, etc) Does his extra cost and his extra canticles make him worth it?

I had thought of putting him with the kastelans but realized he cant join them unless in a formation. I have never run kastelans in war con, opting to run a lib conclave, coteaz/assassin instead.

His main bonus is atrifacts he shares, so barebone warconvoc with inquisitors to carry artefacts

Well his canticles are pretty good. Word of Neutralisation is a real stand out. Ask yourself if you would pay 200 points for 1 or 2 turns of +3 ballistic skill for the whole army. That is a huge benefit.

Then all your characters can also take some of his artifacts. The Quantum Annihilator and Memento-Morispex look good.

Just replace your normal tech priest dominus with him. You where usually paying 105 points for the dominus so when you think of that cawl is just a really awesome 95 point upgrade.

You lack IC characters in warconvocation, but one with artefact which gives cognis/skyfire on demand (mortis mortispex) is a must in a squad of kataphrons. I imagine inquisitor with level in divination and mortispex relic in a maxed out destroyers squad. Bye-bye boeings with invisibility and flyers.
