With all the excitement about the potential of the forthcoming Eldar Codex, I thought I'd dust off my Eldar army and refresh some of the parts of it. I've got a bunch of classic Swooping Hawks I've never used, so thought it was time to get them on the table.

Typically I did the exciting model first - here's my Exarch:

She's a classic Howling Banshee with a new helmet, pistol and web of skulls. I'm particularly pleased with the helmet - the feathered headdress comes from a Mordheim Amazon head.

There's still a bit of touching up to do as well as the basing, but she's almost there - how do you like her?

Looks great- I really like the conversion on the helmet and the web of skulls. The painting is nice as well, but i think it could use a couple of more colours, especially on the gun.

Thanks - glad you like. I personally like the simple colour scheme - I think it looks nice and effective, especially with a full squad. the pic also doesn't really show the contrast too well between the white (loincloth, wings) and desert yellow (undersuit).

The pistol could perhaps get more colour - perhaps some thin banding around the barrel or something to spice it up a bit?

Very cool. I never considered the WoS for a SH Exarch - great idea. I like the helmet feathers too.

I'd do something even more radical with the gun.  I'd repaint almost the entire thing.  I tried to find a picture on CMoN of the style I was think of but to no avail.  I think it would look nice to alternate between bone and black, with a few blue accents.  It looks especially nice when the front grip is painted as well as the clip.
