Ok so I know a good amount of you feel the dispossessed are not top tier competitive. And I agree but after some investigating and discussion I have come up with what I feel is a pretty strong all comers list.

Characters

ungrim the slayer king (leader)
Rune lord
rune lord
rune lord
Bugman
grim burlockson

battle line:

warriors x 10 full command GW shield
warriors x 10 full command GW shield
warriors x 10 full command GW shield

Other:

quarrelers x 30
quarrelers x 20
gryph hounds
gryph hounds

warmachine:

dwarf bolt thrower
dwarf bolt thrower
dwarf bolt thrower
dwarf bolt thrower

points 2000/2000

So after some good discussion those dwarf bolt throwers are just awesome 38" range with a threat range of 42" (move and shoot) means for the most part nothing is going to reach them turn 1. with a engineer they do double damage on a to wound of 5+ and rend -3 which will be deadly against many things.

having 3 rune lords means a potential -3 rend for quarrelers

gryph hounds make sure you wont be sneaking up against my warmachine/back rank without taking a good amount of shots to the face

bugman and rangers allow me for some nice mobility and pop up and shoot action or point grab.

warriors make the cannon fodder or charge fodder allowing my shooting do some serious damage.

If I go first ill be doing some nice point and delete from turn 1.. makes me feel this is 40k

Ungrim is 100 points of some jump in close combat and do some damage. his point may be better spent else where.

I would like to add a hurricanum but not sure what to take out for that point cost... not gonna lie bolt throwers hitting on a 2+ would be pretty sweet

Thoughts? anyone know what to take out for a hurricanum? In a tourney I'm wondering if peeps would be surprised by this?

The only way I could find to add a Hurricanum would require going outside of Dispossessed (side note: "BLECH!"). You would have to drop Ungrim (at this point you are completely trusting the bolt throwers to kill everything), drop 2 runelords (since you are relying on the BT now anyway), and replace the warriors with out-of-faction 80pt battleline (like freeguild guard). That would give you enough points for a Hurricanum. I dont think that would be a good choice or even close to worth it, but it is the best way i can think of to actually squeeze one in.

Blasphemy!!!! LOL

I agree its not worth it. So I wonder if for 2000 points dispossessed (mainly) is this the best army one can make or could there be a better option? (for 2k points of course)

I don't want to rely on the eggs in one basket so I think keeping quarrelers 30 large 3 runlords to make the quarrelers as deadly as the BT and have a little back up counter punch close combat ungrim is the way to go. Mind you with ungrims leader ability even the quarrelers becomes pretty scary in close combat. Imagine 30 quarrelers hitting on 3's wounding on 3's and being buffed by the rune lords getting rend -3 that is a pretty beast mode close combat unit not to mention that fact they can also shoot!

I havent been able to think of a good way to do it yet, but the only way i could really see it getting any better is if you found a way to weasel in one of the dispossessed formations, so that the 100 quareller shots were re-rolling 1s to hit. There are ways to make it happen, but i havent yet found anything that i would consider presenting as "better" than the current list.
