So it begins. Lookie what arrived for me today.

Hopefully I can do this justice. So now I have some questions. Since I have the Hellfort but didn't want to paint it red or Khorn colours, and now I am starting a Tzeench army, how should I colour it? What is Fluffy Tzeench colours for a buildings or castles or walls? I like to get some ideas to see what I can do.

Also now that I want to take my time making my Lord of Change. When I am letting it dry, I am going to try and fix up my Silver Tower minis how can I fix up my Ogroid Thaumaturege? I thought I painted his symbols but they didn't really come out. I was thinking of a lighter bluish green colour but not so sure. Any ideas? Should I make the symbols darker or brighter? If they are brighter, what would the reasoning be? Would that mean he is using magic or just like a bright tattoo? Just like to know more about this army I am about to start.

Also how can I make the Gaunt Summoner base pop more a bit. Make it brighter.

Any help be greatly appreciated. So looking forward to this. Just need some ideas and inspiration to help out.

*edit*

Forgot to ask. Should I model the model completely and then paint or paint then assemble? Reason I ask seeing how Duncan painted it fully assembled seem like a way to do it. Thing is, Duncan makes everything look easy. What do you guys recommend?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I used various mixes of water and white/blue to do his symbols:

as for the gaunt summoner my guess would be putting the 2 Brimstone Horrors that come with your Lord of Change on his base. : ]

I assemble everything and then paint it. Don't know why.. but it works.

Good luck bud and have fun

Would white walls and purple and green details work for the hellfort? I've never seen one in person.

realism is a lie

I don't see a lot of bits that would block you when painting. You should be okay to pre-assemble before you paint it.

Thanks guys. I will try that Brometheus. Thanks for showing a pic, it really helps. I will have to try a section Amazingturtles. See how that goes. I think you might be right En Tyme. I think in this case assembling it all will be the way to go.

As for the walls Davor, remember Tzeentch like to have fortresses known as "Silver Towers". Perhaps that might lead you in the right direction

Be sure to try out your colour scheme out on the inside of a wall before painting, just to test out the colours.

Great idea there WarbossDakka. Didn't think of trying to test them on the inside. Thank you so much for that.

Finally some WIP now. A bit upset. I did my chest peace good and screwed up. :( I didn't realize I had gold paint on my fingers and got it on the chest. Hopefully I was able to fix it.

Really loving putting together this mini. Great job GW.

I am making a Fateweaver but use him as both. I just want the pinkish wings makes it look so much nicer. Just too much blue on Lord of Change.

Another update. Need some ideas and help for a base. Not sure what to make a base for him. Any ideas?

My chaos forces are based using Astrogranite with an Agrax Earthshade wash, then drybrushed with Tyrant Skull. It gives a nice ashen wasteland look. For the god-specific units (Bloodbound, Rotbringers, Daemons of . . . etc.), I add an effect to signify the god's corruption. Bloodbound get some Blood for the Blood God. Nurgle get an added drybrush of Deathworld Forest and some Nurgle's Rot. Slaanesh gets a drybrush of Golden Griffon (I always preferred the gaudy, prideful approach to She Who Thirsts over the clichéd oversexuality). For Tzeentch (the applicable god in this case), I replace the Agrax Earthshade with a Druchii Violet wash and drybrush with a mix of Caledor Sky and Incubi Darkness. It gives the base a very warped look.

You are talking about the "ring" correct the edge around the base? I like that idea. Do you have a pic so I can see? I will try it out and see how it works for me. What can I put on top? I already have done the cork rocks for my Beastclaw Riders, now I don't know if I should do that again or try something else. Question is what?
