Hey guys I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for my soon-to-be next army.

I did have a couple of ideas.

I was thinking starting off at around 750pts and then working up to about 1500pts.

#1: Crimson Fists w/ Custodes Allies

#2: Militarum Tempestus w/ Crimson Fists Allies (or vice versa)

#3: Militarum Tempestus w/ Custodes Allies (is this possible?)

I really like the whole 'special ops' theme going on with MT but I heard they're a bit difficult to play as pure for a beginner.

I was thinking a bit of Deathwatch but painting all those different Chapter shoulder pads on each model seems like to be too much for a beginner as well.

I'm not looking for something with a high model count. Doesn't have to be super competitive as well.

Also, fluff-wise, would any of the above I listed work out or make sense?

Thanks for any help/suggestions guys.

New ideas always welcome as well! (Since I'm new to the hobby and all)

Seeing as you've already chosen 3 armies that could easily work together as fluffy allies, why not just go with all 3, starting with the individual kit you most prefer?

I didnt really plan on doing all 3 because i thought it might look too complicated in a way...

Just curious, how would they work fluff-wise as all 3?

Well Crimson Fists, Militarum Tempestus & Custodes are all Imperial factions, so fluff wise, combining them makes complete sense. I wouldn't worry too much about long term planning yet. I find that my plans tend to change often over time & when I finish painting a unit. Don't start with a mindset of spending 1500 points worth of your hard earned. Decide on your 750 first, paint it, play with it. After that, you may find that the next 750 you want looks nothing like the 1500 you planned originally.
