For afew weeks now i've had this itch to paint up some tyranids, it's somewhere between wanting an actually decent sized force of bugs, as well as simply wanting to paint a few just for the hell of it. So last saturday i went out and picked up a box of warriors. It took me afew days to work out a color scheme that i liked, and i think i've stumbled on it finally. The carapace does need one extra layer of highlighting on it, and im thinking the claws need to go up one more shade as well before i can call them finished.

Those look pretty nice. I'm not sure the carapace needs much more, but the claws could use a lighter shade just near the tips to give the appearance of being very sharp (I think you already noticed this). Also, what do you want to do as far as the bases? Be sure to post pics when you are ready to call them finished!

I think they look good - just need a nice contrasting base.

Very nice. Hard to pull off black. I think you did a good job. I would leave the carapace. A suggestion though is I would use a red wash (sorry forget the name, carboug or something like that, yes I know I spelt it wrong).

Let the wash go through the recesses and then dry brush it back up to the red where or is it pink where you had it before.
