-- Make the hydra great again

I really, really, hate it when games both digital and tabletop try to shoehorn basic autocannons in to either anti air or anti infantry/light vehicle. I've heard a lot about this being a problem in 6th I believe because it rendered the LR exterminator redundant and the unit was too versatile. I just plainly disagree, the Hydra is nowhere near as armed or armored as an LR. hell chimera hulls are prone to being glanced to death by bolters. and additionally it makes no goddamned sense. because yes let's have the fast tracking autocannon shoot snapshots on Titans.

-- Voxcaster super buff.

There is already a formation that does some of this stuff, but in general the vox should be reworked to something that doesn't resemble a loud speaker. so how about giving it an infinite range on orders....... it's a fething radio. and allow units with Vox to reduce scatter or twin link barrage weapons fired from vehicles. a cool new role for infantry, forward observers

-- free heavy stubbers on every vehicle.

seriously just look to modern militaries, see if you could find a single combat land vehicle that doesn't have an HMG or GPMG mounted to it.

-- Las and autocannon sponsons for the LR

so we're cool with pricy plasma cannons and multi melta sponsons but the line was drawn at las and autocannons.................. why?

-- Las and autocannon turrets for chimaras

autocannon is already a FW option and I can't imagine a lascannon would be that difficult to bolt to a turret mount that already takes HBs MLs and ACs.... It's acceptable to fire a lascannon from the troop bay but the
imperium can figure out a way to bold one to a turret? I mean hell the goddamned turox can manage to field a miniature battle cannon

-- Return of the Stormtroopers?

well the Tempestus actually have their own codex now, so can we get the old stormtroopers back....... with hellguns?

-- leman russ MBT and demolisher ordnance options
well, basic grenadiers and rocket teams have more ammo selection the a leman russ main battle tank, how about consolidating the Vanq and MBT into one tank with ammo selection pretty much the difference between
HE and sabot rounds. for the demolisher I always thought it would be interesting if it could lob rounds at a greater range say 48" barrage 24' direct fire

I think the vox caster idea is a good one, and a lot of your ideas make sense. I only disagree on las cannon and autocannon side sponsons for the Russ as I don't think you could physically fit the auto cannon, ammunition and gunner inside of it. The two Russ's should stay separate though I agree that the battlecannon does need a secondary type of shot, I propose that it be given Krak rounds, with str 10 AP 2 single shots and the Vanquisher cannon basically gaining a rule that allows it to deal extra damage with each pen, maybe 1d3 hull points per pen as opposed to just 1. The demolisher I'm fairly neutral on.

well the lascannon shouldn't be an issue, I'd imagine an extension cord would take less room than a bolter belt.

Well the cables for the las cannon and kinda huge, I can see it working on the larger automated SM vehicles but it just doesn't feel right on the Guard's sponsons. Also what do you think of my proposal for the battle and Vanquisher cannons

I'm no guard player, but that's never stopped me from tossing my two cents in anyway!

Hydras:
I'm not clear on what you're proposing here.

Vox:
Makes sense to me. I like it.

Heavy Stubbers:
Eh. I don't usually go for the "realism" argument in a game about space knights and space elves attacking each other with chainsaws and magical mind bullets. That said, heavy stubbers probably wouldn't be problematic in terms of game balance. Would having them really fix any issues? Are chimeras one heavy bolter away from making IG a top-tier army? If not, I'd put this in the, "Yeah. Sure. Whatever" category. Not really a problem, but not really a solution either.

More sponson options on big tanks seems fine. Considering that there's absolutely no way I could realistically fit 10 marines in a rhino or 12 anything in a wave serpent, I don't think "weapon size" really holds up as an argument against them.

I'm not sure how I feel about lascannon chimeras. It probably wouldn't be a big deal, but it would be a dramatic enough change to make me squint at it a bit.

Storm Troopers:
I don't know enough about the old ST to reply confidently to this one. What would such a change give you that allying in scions doesn't?

Russ Boosts:
I like the idea of high-quality-low-quantity weapons in general inflicting more than one hull point's worth of damage. I don't know guard stuff well enough to be sure the tanks panzerfront14 is referring to would match that description, but I'm not against the mechanic in general. Basically, a krak missile that does 2 or d3 hull points worth of damage is cool, but an assault cannon with the same rule would not be cool.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

The weapon I am referring too gaining multiple damage per pen is the single shot Vanquisher cannon, as I think that based upon how it is described it should rip apart what ever it hits and do serious damage to enemy vehicles. Though I would restrict the damage to be only inflicted upon a single model kinda like a poor man's D weapon but only against vehicles and maybe monstrous creatures. It's also expensive enough to not be broken imo but the boost would put it into effective tier.

The krak round for the Battle cannon would just be a single shot with the following profile Ordinance 1, STR 10 AP 2 as it seems that a battle cannon would have multiple types of shells like a real tank for different targets, in this case an anti tank round and a HE shell.

@ Panzer

I still think the two should be consolidated, but yes I do like your proposal, it gives the vanq more effect against single hardened targets and the LR MBT more versatility.

@Wyld

- I'm suggesting in general taking away that stupid rule where, where AA guns shoot snapshots on ground targets.

- Thanks

- pretty much 5 points for a 3 str4ap6 shots is a tough sell, especially when the accumulated cost of putting heavy stubbers on every vehicle in a guard mech list could instead buy you another vehicle.

- yeah, it's just weird limitations. and I'd absolutely love a 5 autocannon lol russ.

- It really wouldn't, you can already fire lascannons out of the troop bay with embarked Vet heavy weapons teams at BS4 to the chimaries excellent and not garbage BS3.

- I'm just say'n I'd like to see more guard elite slots, it's more neglected than their fast attack choices and the scions just stright have their own dex with better orders.

this would be a good opportunity to bring the oldschool stormtroopers back.

- I'd just like to see more ordnance options for the Russ MBT. it's annoying when a basic SM devastator with missiles has more ordnance options than the Imperium's Main battle tank.
