Hey everyone!

I have been resisting the call of AoS (Seriously, the miniatures and artwork are getting really nuts. It's harder and harder ) but a friend of mine is getting quite... well, hyped, with the idea of adding some more miniatures to the Starter set (the Stormcast vs Khorne one) so he has at least 1000 points of each side.

We have been looking at the SC boxes and between the possible 3 for Chaos (Khorne dudes, Khorne Deamons and Slaves to Darkness), StD seems to be, hands-down, the absolute winner with no questions asked: 600 points for little more than 50€.

The question is: Is it too good to be true? According to the rules, the StD can be declared as "Khorne" so they'd have synergy with the rest of the army, (we play Malifaux, and just like it, AoS also seems very "unit synergy" important) but I'm somewhat concerned with how good this box looks

Yes, infact this works with the new Tzeentch battletome, by declaring everything Tzeentch you get the benefits.

If you want to combine Khorne Slaves of Darkness with Bloodbound, it works rather well.

If you want to run Nurgle SoD with Rotbringers or Nurgle Daemons or Pestilens.. Yeah.

Slaves of Darkness is pretty much the ambiguous hordes that follow Chaos but aren't exactly 100% enthralled to their God Masters and so they can be used to add to major god factions or just on their own.

Slaves are basically a solid filler faction for anything Chaos. If you've got gaps in your force and need a quick fix, throw in some Slaves. In most cases, they'll gel with your allegiance. It's because of this that they make a solid starting force for Chaos, since you can freely expand in just about any direction you'd like.

Perfect, it really seems like the perfect first box then! Thanks for the help
