I want to start building an army of Sylvaneth and being the total noob and poor student that I am I'm looking at the Start Collecting box. However, I'd like some confirmation on whether the included Treelord can be built as a Treelord Ancient or Spirit of Durthu, not just the basic Treelord. I want an Ancient and would rather not spent more than I have to.

Yes. You get the full kit for the Treelord, four sprues to make 16 Dryads, and a Branchwych. I built my Treelord as the Ancient.
