1st Detachment:The Purge

total 1835pts!!!

First off. Is this even legal? I wish I had the time to try this list out last year when these books where new.

You need Imperial Armor 13: Warmachines of the Lost and the Damned for the Giant Spawns. Then you need the IA:SoV for the Purge/ discounted spawns in elites slot.

So now this list sports 53 spawns that rush 12" and tie up the enemy. Thats 159 wounds.

Then 3x3 Lumbering MCs...Not GMC...MCs...as LoWs...Lols wtf? Thats 36 wounds.
As MCs they at least get ap2 and have option to smash which gives up their d6+2 attacks that i desperately need to smash walkers.

I already have 18 spawns. I can possibly kitbash to build more and even kitbash to make the Giant Spawns.

So I would like anymore suggestions on making this list any more stupid.

The Arch Demagogue devotions mean you have to be the warord, so you can't have more than one mutant overlord :-(

Buuut. I don't see any reason why you couldn't take Giant spawn in multiple detachments as long as you have one Mutant overlord.
Same for spawn.

But waitt.. you're using the Mutant overlord from IA13.. but the spawns from the Vraks list.. that doesn't work!

Spawn can't be taken as elites in IA13 (despite being listed as them).

Giving your warlord a dedication of tzeentch opens up 3 spawn plus another for the mutant overlord. As troop choices.

Taking a CAD, these spawn are all obsec.
You would need another 6 units of mutants tho. Buut they are cheap enough.

IA13 Rengades can't use the Purge detachment and they can't take their Spawn as elite choices

Crownaxe, If however, I used IA:SoV, I can have Purge and Spawns as elite but no Giant Spawns? For future list building.

Thank you CaptynBob. Using IA13 instead of IA:SoV because IA:SoV doesnt have cov of tz nor mutant overlord.

You can only have 1 Mutant Overlord because only your Warlord can take Mutant Overlord.

Also only Warlord unlocks a Spawn troop with Covenant of Tzeentch. So you can only have a total of 4 spawn units in IA13

You can only have one mutant overlord.. but you could argue that he unlocks spawn for each detachment. The demagogue devotion applies to the army, not detachment.
Buut that's probably taking the rules out of their intended context. For silly reasons.

So Vraks list requires its detachment to be primary warlord for it to have rh zombies.

Can the Vraks Renegade have The Purge detachment and have 6 trios of Spawns and 8 squads of zombies as troops? Wait...these troops dont get ob sec anyways.

Please still answer me that because I am going to make a new army list thread since we established we cant have 9 Giant Spawns.

With what I am told. I can still have Necrosius and cultist designated as zombies in a CSM CAD.

Detachment 3: CSM (430pts)

HQ:
Necrosius=160

Troops:
20 Cultist Zombies=90
20 Cultist Zombies=90
20 Cultist Zombies=90

Grand total 1845pts.

Necrosius as a tax is brutal compared to a RCS with cov of ng for 55pts. For 270pts of the 60 cultists, I could have had 90 rh zombies.

edit: Necrosius has to be the warlord in order to select multiple squads of cultist zombies. So he is not an option if he competes with the mutant overlord hq.

50 Zombies = 150(I can only have 1 squad?)
2x10Mutants =60 (do i have to take 2 squads due to mutant overlord ruling?)

3 giant spawn =240

Normal CAD IA13 =345
Demagogue =45
2×10 mutants =60
3 giant spawn =240 (mutant overlord is warlord, so this should qualify)

Purge detachment- SOV =375
Demagogue =45

grand total = 1240pts. I guess I could play at 1250pts. Is this armu any good at 1250 league?

If I wasnt limited to 3 CADs I would add in my csm or a renegade knight titan.

I have tons of cultists. I have no rapiers, no imperial vehicles, no artillery or motor heavy weapons teams. I do have marines with lascannon/autocannons and a bunch of large bases for heavy weapons team so I can glue in 1 cultist and a havoc on a large base.

Would infantry platoons be a good idea?

platoon comand squad, vox caster, 20 men, 3 flamer, 2 hvy weapons lascannon, flak armor, militia training=135

20 (4 are hvy team) men platoon A, sigil, 3 flamer, 2 heavy weapons team autocannon, militia training, flak armor =115
20 (4 are hvy team) men platoon B, sigil, 3 flamer, 2 heavy weapons team autocannon, militia training, flak armor= 115

should I waste points on champ with melta bombs? How do i purchase demagouge for fanatic? it is not listed like the champ entry.

Ok seriously, every single question you've asked can be answered by reading the actual rules instead of just thumbing in units into an army builder program.

DakkaDakka is not a replacement for having the codex.

Page 162 of IA13. It literally says, "Any one renegade may be upgraded to a: champion for x points"

There is no option to take the demagogue.

Also, where does it state people can spam zombie squads in Vraks on page 240?On page 240 it only states that cov of ng opens up 1 slot of zombies as troops. Is the rule for opening up miltiple zombies squads on a different page? I see people doing it in their lists all the time.
