Hi everyone,
So after watching hundreds of videos and reading lots of things i want to start collecting and playing this awesome game, you guys see im from uruguay and i think no one plays 40k here but i want to collect them to play with friends to have fun so my idea is to make an army and then a second one.
I want a tyranids army, i already have a termagaunts brood and i was thinking to order a start collecting box and the new tervigon brood progenitor box, and with all that i think i will have an army to start playing, what do you guys think? i accept any suggestion since im a beginner.

and about the second army: i want it to be a balanced game against tyranids and also i want them to be or marines, wolves, BA, or any army that looks like "the force fighting the swarm".
i didnt research so much about this but i looked at the start collecting space wolves plus the new drop pod pack of them. any suggestion is welcome here too.

Note: i want to spend about 200 dollars max on each army (this is because some international orders rules that exist in my country i cant exceed this ammount on every order and the order are limited here)

Hi! Welcome to Dakka and 40k!

The "start collecting" boxes are great deal, as long as you want at least half of the contents. The "troop + transport" boxes are likewise great deals financially (the Brood Progenitor box basically gets you the Termagaunts for £2.50 (I'm not sure of the conversion rate, but I'm sure you understand).

I don't know too much about Tyranids (I don't see them alot at my club), so can't really comment on whether the units above are any good. It'll give you the minimum standard setup (one HQ unit and two Troops units) plus an extra HQ, Troop and Fast Attack.

Likewise, the Space Wolves you're looking at will give 1 HQ, 2 Troops and a Fast Attack, so they are both legal "battle-forged" armies (Not a requirement to play, but I generally suggest it as a format for new starters as it gives a good basic collection).

The Start Collecting box and the armored incursion(or whatever it's called) are an excellent start for any army. I will warn you, in order to play, you need the rule, which comes in a $80 USD pack of three books(of which one is fluff and the other is painting). Could probably get it off Ebay for less though.

As for a rival army for your 'nids, the SM are definitely a fluffly choice, but you will need to buy significantly more 'nids than marines in order to get a matching point value, as they're a swarm army.

In regards to the whole army to balance against Nids, I think that Space Wolves are a good match on the table top, thematically speaking. Throwing a big block of Thunderwolf Cavalry against a sward of Gaunts can be fun to watch, and the Space Wolf Dreadnought with Axe and Shield is also awesome. Or bring swarms of Fenrisian Wolves to match the swarms of Tyranids!

All of the Space Marine Chapters are cool, but I do think that Space Wolves will better match the Nids for theme in this case.

And if i do the same with the other army i want (Start collecting plus troop and transport new pack), which army seems to be better? i read that SM start collecting is not too good, but what about the others? BA SW etc

The Space Wolf Start Collecting box is about $30 USD off of retail price, basically you are getting the Grey Hunters/Blood Claws for almost free when buying the set.

The Space Marine Start Collecting box is okay if you want a Dreadnought, which can be viewed as less than competitive, and you usually would not want to field a Terminator Captain with the loadout the model comes with.

The Blood Angels one is good if you want a tank. and another Terminator HQ with a less than stellar loadout.

Really, all of the Start Collecting boxes are good deals for the money. The question is do you want the models that come in the kit? If so, then grab them up!

Ok so the tyranids army its done, what remains its the opposing army, im between BA or SW right now (in terms of start collecting + "transport +squad" new box)

space wolves would get :

(start collecting)
3 tunderwolves
1 space wolves lord
10 space wolves pack

(new box)
1 drop pod
10 space wolves pack

and blood angels would get:

(start collecting)
1 baal predator
1 terminator captain
10 tactical squad

(new box)
1 rhino
10 man tactcal squad

which one between these 2 you guys think its the better option to fight against the tyranid army (balanced)?

Space Wolf Thunderwolf Cavalry is top tier in the Western USA meta. Tyranids... not so much. To really exploit Tyranid strengths, I woukd suggest flying monsterous creatures. Also, you might consider looking at the Dakka Swap Shop and or ebay for good deals.

If you like thunderwolves, go for em. If you like wulfen more then dont hold back, they are masters of melee and TONS of fun!

Heavily recommend avoiding the expensive rulebook set if you need rulebook. 8th ed comes almost certainly in like less than half a year. Ebay or something like kill team(that comes with tac squad you can use to bolster space wolves) is much better option
