Hi,
Been running an elite infantry army based around scions and proxying in various flavors of power armor for a while now and fancying a bit of a change, and considering going to the opposite extreme and running a pure vehicle based army for the contrast. Liking the look of knights due low model count, being active in both shooting and assault phase plus the models are pretty sweet too. Just looking for advice both on how play them as well as list building.
At the moment I'm fancying running vehicle formations for allies to saturate armour and in a couple of cases for aesthetics. Got 3 main ideas in play
A Skyreaper formation of 3 wardens with 2 ravenwing support squadrons- From reading around this formation in generally frowned upon but I feel that these formations work well to cover 2 weaknesses of knights being flyers and deepstriking melta. Although the Icarus auto-cannons lack the
AP to deal with
FMCs the ability to reroll to wound makes those lucky hits from the bolt cannons more likely to count. The RWSS seem very adaptable quite liking multimelta and assault cannon combination to deal with both
MEQ and dreadnaughts drop podding in.
Oathsworn detachment of 2 paladins with 2 emperors talons- Mainly like it due to the aesthetic possibilities, thinking of running it as a hunting party as a theme with a double barreled shotgun conversion for the paladins

thinking of taking armoured sentinels with autocannons for popping transports so the knights can blast the tasty contents and heavy flamer scout sentinels to act as beaters.
As above but with the emperors talon formations replaced with ironstrider cavaliers- Similar to above probably a little more effective as the ironstriders can work as crude anti-air and dune strider makes it easier to keep up with the knights. Not a fan of them not starting on the table though as I would like more targets to keep heat off the knights.
On an aside tempted by an idea for non-vehicle allies, features some assumptions being made with rules but don't think it's too cheesey due to the allies not being optimal
Household detachment crusader and 2 wardens,
st.celestine and a deathrider detachment- Relies on celestine being able to be taken as a
HQ in the deathrider detachment (can't see why not as I understand it she can be a
HQ in any imperium army) would allow the crusader to take "desvalles holy circle" to protect against deepstrikers, maybe a "Blade of the worthy" for the officer in the command squad as Celestine would give the squad the durability to make it worth while. While the deathriders would offer some fast moving obsec I think they would be too few and too fragile to be effective and other than that don't really offer anything the knights need.
Why am I considering it you may ask? Because... Bretonnians in SPAAAAAACE!
Anyhow sorry for keeping the lists vague but it's more ideas at the moment and I'm interested in feedback before developing them further.
