Hi all-
Wondering if a better painter than I could describe how to achieve a mottled surface like that found on this Forge World Vultrax.


I'm a relatively proficient painter with brush and airbrush, but can't for the life of me tell how they achieved this finish.

Looks like the lightest layer of paint has been applied with a sponge. Using a piece of torn sponge from a blister will give you that random effect.

I would have guessed either sponged or stippled with a short bristled brush.

Looks like stippling to me. Have a look at this chap's little guide (he knows what he's talking about).
