Hi guys

I confess, when younger I really didnt read enough or try and get a good grasp on the detail of the armies I was interested in. However I am now 34 and a little more focused and looking to pick up painting again and learning more about the background of the 40 K universe.

I am hoping to buil upon some chaos units but need some advice on if this is going to work....

I have painted Huron Blackheart and a squad of Space Marines in the Red Corsairs colours. My question now is if there is any limitation on building upon this? I have (unpainted) a squad of chaos terminiators, a chaos dreadnaught, some raptors and Abaddon - does that work together? Are there rules I should follow?

Any guidance is greatly received.

Thanks
John

I'm pretty sure Abbadon wants to rip Huron's throat out because Huron is constantly messing with him and trying to take his position. Definatley don't paint Abbadon in red, lol.

And what do you mean by "limitations"? Since they're no longer Imperial They'd likely have more freedom on their colour scheme, icons and styling. In the novel Pandorax there's a Red Corsair who's armour was originally yellow but was poorly painted over in red, and the Imperial Fists symbol on his shoulder pad was still visible close up. They sound like they take lots of liberties and don't have a strict uniform code, which makes sense since they're pirates. (Chaos ones at that)

I guess by limitations I mean what can I do and what shouldnt I do with the building of the army. ..things like not including Abaddon lol
Forgive my naivety but could I feild Abaddon with the army without Huron? I guess not as he doesnt lead them?

I'm learning with every reply so thanks for your input

You /can/ field Abaddon in a red corsairs without Huron, but its a very weird thematic choice..

In the latest campaign book, Abaddon and Huron are besties.

Abaddon gives Huron a most impressive gift...

On topic, The Red Corsairs have access to all chaos options, but are thematically more likely to have units without Veterans of the Long War. In the past Huron's been said to favour bikes, tho I have no idea why as they are supposed to specialise in void combat.
