State of confusion

Working on a Genestealer Cult. Starting with the Goliath Trucks. I want them to be heavily rusted so I will be attempting the salt paint chip technique.
Here are some pictures of the rust under coat before salting.

State of confusion

Here is my first test model painted after the great salting. I have to say I am happy with the results. This is before I weather the over coat.













Some things I learned about salting.

First you should use your airbrush without paint in it on the model to blow off any excess salt. I had salt flying everywhere while I was painting. Not good.

On the other truck I went back and added more water to the salt piles on the model. I hope this will seal more of the salt onto the model.
