1) just remember that you technically need permission to use relics

as for the rest of the list:

IMO the biggest problems are that your assault squads are too small to do any real damage, and will basically be neutered by the first 20-man tactical squad they bump into. Secondly, those 2 assault squads are the only thing that can score in your list, and like I just mentioned, are still to squishy to do that. I'd drop one of the tanks (maybe even the xiphon) and beef up your assault squads to be something less...... meh? I'd go 15-20 men, apothecaries for 'em, and MAYBE shields if you have the points.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

10-man assault squads will likely win and run down a 20-man tactical squad, if anyone in your local area is foolish to run 20-man Tactical dead weight squads. 15-strong is probably better though because you'll lose some guys on the approach.

I did originally have them both as 15 man squads with 3 power weapons but the rite of war I took requires a fast attack that can either deep strike or has the flyer rule.

I mean, I see plenty of people doing great with what you call "dead weight" squads both locally, at LVO, and all over the place.

10-man assault squad vs. 20-man tactical squad with extra CCWs. 30 swings vs. 60 swings (~7.5 wounds before saves vs. 15 wounds before saves). You are SEVERELY over-estimating the strength of only 10 assault marines against the "dead weight" squads.

I feel like the power weapons will account for some extra wounds and the fact that if I get the charge I'm initiative 5. Plus this is a list for local casual play not LVO

of course, I only brought up LVO since handofmars wanted to go with the boring "but tacticals suck" line.

power weapons will help, but that only amounts to 1.5 dead marines if your using power swords, which isn't enough (in my mind) to make combat safe enough for your only 2 scoring units (which is a huge weakness in and of itself. If they die, you cant really win any objective based game unless you table your enemy)

Personally, I'd ditch the Primus Medicae in favour of a chaplain. Then find the points for a standard apothecary with a jump pack to give your praetor FNP.

For the greater good...
