Subject: New to forums and to the heresy, have a few questions

So I'm starting an Iron Hands army after doing my reasearch on the heresy and also looking through the red books. I'd like to ask a few questions, and forgive me if they're stupid and I should know about them, but:
Can you put multiple units In a spartan?
I saw it had a 25 model capacity or along the lines of that, so I was wondering if you could put a couple 10 man squads in or just the one?
What vehicles should I get?
I'm planning on making this a mechanised force, and since I like the look of land raiders and spartans, I'm thinking of using the IH rite of war to give a tac squad or two a land raider. If there is an alternative, do let me know. I like the idea of keeping my army mobile, but I really don't want vindicators. I'd also like to know how I should use these vehicles, as these types of tanks don't look at all similar to the necron and tau ones I use.
If there's any other advice you have for me, I'd like to know as anything' welcome at this stage.

only super heavy transports can cary multiple units. A spartan specializes in holding 10 terminators (20 slots) a primarch (3 slots) and a terminator (or 2 power armour) HQs (2 slots) in a single super squad.
whichever vehicles you like. in 30k it's largely a game of "bring what you think looks cool" so you can spam predators to decent effect, vindicators with PotMS for lulz, or sicarians for decent all-around ability.
Personally, I think the best starting point is a few Calth or Prospero box sets. They are cheap, give you a good core, and are easily expanded. IMO any legion list should at least have the ability (not NEEDED but is nice for expansion) to field: 2 20-man tactical squads (since these can double as multiple 10-man squads), a Praetor, a command squad (more for the fluff of the unit) and a contemptor.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field. |

Hi Bren,
Thanks for the input, in fact I was going to get two Calth sets to build the core of the army and expand from there. As for the vehicles, if that's true then land raiders are definitely in order, but I don't know how to use them nor how I should upgrade. Ideas?

Upgrades for Land Raiders? I run an assault unit in mine, so I run a Phobos pattern with Armored Ceremite. At the AdeptiCon tournaments, I run across melta from time to time and this helps. Otherwise, keep it as cheap as you can so you can fill it with more bodies!

Thanks Kronk,
Will be sure to keep them cheap. I will be putting as much dakma into them as I can though.
