Ok so I am planning on devoting my 30k force to an Army of Dark Compliance theme, but I have some questions as far as how some of the Iron Warriors legion traits might mix with the Militia units. For instance, Iron Warriors models do not suffer moral checks from shooting attacks and can re-roll failed pinning tests. Suppose I have an Iron Warriors centurion in a unit of Militia, and they take 25% casualties from shooting, and the highest leadership is the Iron Warriors Centurion model, do I have to take a moral check? The questions works the same for pinning tests as well. Also does "The Bitter End" rule still apply to an Army of Dark Compliance? The leadership questions I think can be solved by analyzing the rules but the latter might be more situational I think? Thank you for your help!

“Victory is not an abstract concept, it is the equation that sits at the heart of strategy. Victory is the will to expend lives and munitions in attack, overmatching the defenders’reserves of manpower and ordnance. As long as my Iron Warriors are willing to pay any price in pursuit of victory, we shall never be defeated.” - The Primarch Perturabo, Master of the Iron Warriors

Haha I was asking myself the same thing some time ago

But i dont know. This needs to be FAQed i think. But considering there is a new edition around the corner we will get update for all the legions anyway - afaik FW said HH will always follow latest rules.

Lol yeah I get what you are saying, but I'm hoping there is a rules lawyer on here who can litigate me a solution as far as leadership tests, special abilities and allies. I'm going to be starting a 30k campaign soon and I want to know if there is any argument for or against it.

If you go by how the 40K rulebook works, when you stick a loyalist SM character into a unit of guardsmen, the whole squad ends up with ATSKNF, or Fearless if the character has it, so it should work the same way.

Kind of a neat idea too, IW lords whipping their conquered slaves into the field of fire.

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

The model taking the leadership test is the Iron Warriors centurion. He automatically passes it. Problem solved Bitter End does not apply because the army is not an Iron Warriors army. It is an Army of Dark Compliance (a modified Legiones Astartes list). I believe the wording on Bitter End is that it applies if your primary detachment is an Iron Warriors detachment. Imagine that despite the bitterness of the Iron Warriors, there's only so much they can push their worthless cannon fodder. The humans won't be sticking around, and the Iron Warriors wouldn't stick if a significant fraction of their army left. They're not ones for heroic last stands.

Cool I like these interpretations, I think it would make sense as well fluffwise. Good catch on the ATSKNF, been playing so much 30k I forgot about that trick.

I dont have the Rulebook with me but i would say it needs direct FAQ still. I get the idea but i bet there would be some rules lawyers denying this interpretation.

Anyway this rule is very strong in this army. Perhaps even the best legion to go with the foodsloggers

Might be worth checking to see if there was ever an faq for the death korps - they have exactly the same rule: "don't take" the test, rather than "automatically pass" - so a death korps commissar-general attached to allies who do have to take such tests would be the same situation.
