So a friend and I are going to check out some narrative play and chose the "Consumed" scenario. Only fitting as he is Order and I am chaos. In the setup section there is a section "sweeping advance" which reads...

"Instead of setting up a unit from their army on the battlefield, the player in command of the rescuers can place the unit to one side and say it is sweeping around to arrive on the flank of the main battle force. These units arrive in the movement phase of the rescuer's first turn. All of the models in these units must set up within 6" of the table edges indicated on the map (this counts as their move for that movement phase). Units can be brought into battle from one or both of the available table edges."

So is this pretty much like "reserves"? How many units can the rescuers set aside like this and bring in in the "advance" zone during their first turn? The wording says "unit" but then later says "units". Does the "must be at least 9" from enemy models" still apply?

Thanks for any clarification.

I would say any units (maybe at least one has to start on the battlefield? Not sure of the exact wording of this battleplan).

For the other question, does it say at least 9" from enemy models? If not I would think it doesn't apply, if only because most similar abilities are explicit about that statement, and it's conspicuously missing here, which leads me to believe this does not apply.

Ok, yeah I would figure at least 1. With only 6" of the edges of the Advance zone and it being 12" deep will only allow for so many models anyways.

It does not say about the 9" away form enemy models thing and you are right in that it usually does explicitly say that so I'm thinking it doesn't matter in this scenario.

Thanks for the input. We're looking forward to playing it.
