Hey Dakka,
So, went to warhammer world yesterday (ouch on the pocket, but wow on the soul). Thoroughly recommended if you haven't been, it's amazing. Anyway, so I bought a chinnork, big squiggoth and a meka dredd. I am looking to get some of the others too, and I got the IA 8, but it doesn't have all the rules in it for these models (for example, the chinork).
Can someone give me, or direct me to, a definitive list of what books or websites have the rules for forgeworld ork models... like the guargantuan squiggoth and the chinork? There is a lot of confusing old books out there...
Fanks, Automatically Appended Next Post: The fact that I've had 50 views of this and no replies tells me all I need to know
There's no definitive lists for anything.. so it's IA8 and figure out the rest online I guess...

If Forge World is selling it, it's still official. If it is on the FW website, it's still official.
Otherwise... Prooobably not still official.

Okay, okay, I'll stop lurking. Forgeworld released a free pdf containing rules for the Chinork (warkopta) and the mega dred. It's the top result if you Google dred mob pdf. You're on your own for the squiggoth though, no idea where its rules are

The squiggoth rules are in the most recent generic apocalypse book IIRC. I think it came out around 2012-2013?

Thanks Guys. Yeah I did find that PDF, but if you look at it, it's for the 6th edition (I do know how to google).
I found the majority of the FW models in IA apoc, and some in normal GW apoc, but the chinork definitely no official rules. I spoke to a great lady at FW who said "just use what you can find no the net"... so I think I'm good

The chinork is supposed to be a warkopta.

If you have IA:8, the chinork, big squiggoth and mega dread rules are all are in it (chinork is also called a warkopta).
However, in IA: apoc, the big squiggoth rules were updated a bit.

FW has done a rather poor job updating old content... there's a ton of stuff that hasn't seen updates since the 5th-6th change and IMHO if they're going to update that slowly, they should really go back to the old 3rd edition modifying codecies (ex: this is a tactical squad with the following changes).
At very least the two Badab lists are just so sad that every time I consider taking them, I don't even get to the point of sketching out a list.
And, either way, they've done a pretty terrible job keeping up with which rules you can find where.

Yep the rules are all over the place.
IA8 and such for warkopta. The squiggoth is in IA8, its at the back pages, its not directly in the bit you would expect. But they have also been updated in Apoc as someone mentioned.
As for using them, you just have to use them with the 6th ed rules that they have and apply them to 7th ed. For example, you can still squadron them etc... but you get overwatch from all vehicles and such.
Personally it can be an advantage at times and a disadvantage at others, but hey, your playing orks

Forge world models are official but they're completely absent from GW's codexes and supplementes, that's why several units have outdated rules. You can always use them but keep in mind that forgeworld is a sort of 40k expansion/spin off, the stuff they sell are more suited for collectors than gamers.

TRUE! but they also have some hilarious uses! I ran a squadron of 3 of the AV13 vehicles (gunwagons I believe). I put into it a unit of lootas, shootas and flashgitz. Against a Nid list the dude charged me with the melee lord dude (lots of arms with swords and 2 bodyguard dudes). Yeh due to squadron rules all 3 units got overwatch.....
Not that I needed all 3 units.... as the flashgitz proceeded to roll like 15+ 's on 30 dice and I rolled AP1.... yeh bye bye warlord squad...
The FW ork stuff is great fun to play with, adds a variety of ork tanks (that you can generally convert from trukks or rhinos - even better if you magnetise guns you can have a trukk that you can play as a gunwagon, junka...). Yes they aren't super , but if your playing friendly games they are viable and enjoyable.
