I've started repainting some of my X-Wing ships, mostly just washes and drybrushing and have got some agreeable results.

However always room to improve so has anybody got any X-Wing specific tricks to share ?

Cheers (have some photo capabilities en route so will sling pics up in due course)

I've been doing some work on my ships, like you mostly just shading and touch ups.

The biggest problem I've had has been color matching, it took me a while to mix up a Tie fighter blue and I still haven't gotten down the right grays and tans for other ships.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

My Instagram account is pretty much the odd food picture and X-Wing and Armada repaint, if you're interested. You can even view them from a regular computer now. Just look for the username xwing_pilot_montreal.

Drybrushing is godly on x wing models. If you can master dry brushing, you can master the repainting of X-wing models !

that's mostly what I'm doing, brush on the magical demon blood (aka GW Nuln Oil, Agrax Earth or Seraphim Sepia) and drybrush up, works really well, out of the dozen or so I've done thus far I've only messed up the Upsilon but that was pre tea and toast start resulting in misjudged working up of the grey/white

To aff some extra detail use a small sponge to creat small paint chips and the likes. That works well too

Ah, I see.

Thank you for the compliment.

You can browse an Instagram profile via the web now, though. So if you don't feel like trawling through pictures of cosplayers and vaping mods, you can always do that.
