Hey, anyone have some experience transporting an army with a lot of bikes in it? When totally finished, I plan to have around 20 bikes including a command squad with all the trimmings, 11-15 terminators and a Dark Shroud. Any recommendations?

that small of an army you might ge away with a pluck foam tool box, otherwise I am a fan personally of battlefoam

The trash bin is a good place to "store" those actually.

Just kidding. RW bikes are a hard army for some to deal with.

I would go with the pluck foam idea above.
Personally, I go get tool boxes or fishing tackle boxes for my minis. I then custom cut my own foam and hot-glue them into the cases. But that seems to be a bit of work for some people.

Thank you for the recommendations. I'm not above doing some work if it saves me a bit of money, though sometimes I find that once the expenses of making something yourself are added up you might as well just buy something already made. You have any special method for cutting your foam trays?

May I recommend TableWar? Rather than foam, they have cases that accommodate magnetized trays. It's great for oddly shaped or pokey minis like bikes, and the trays are mega useful for moving/organizing around your minis when gaming or painting.

One downside is they're not quite as secure when transporting on say an airplane. But anything less than that and they do fine.

I have definitely considered magnetized options for the reasons you bring up, but the TableWar cases are just too expensive for my tastes. That is one option I would certainly try to make on my own, buying a tool box as Galef suggested and attaching some steel strips to the inside.

2.5 to 3 inch foam should fit them nice. I use 2 trays of the 3 inch and that stores about 15 bikes in each.

Awesome, dimensions like that are very helpful. I will keep that in mind. Sucks that one tray would hold almost, but not all, of my bikes! Oh well.

a thing to note you can get egeneric trays of just battlefoam foam itself

I have gotten the generc amazon $10 per tray for troop ones all day long but find the battlefoam is nice for specialty stuff looks like you could get the custome foam for about $50 and put it in whatever bag you wanted

I'm a KR Multicase fan. They have some pluck foam trays that work well for RW bikes. I find their card cases are easier to store than foam in other forms.
