So I'm wanting to rebuild my Death Guard with the upcoming models and want to aim for a competitive build. I already figured Nurgle lord on a bike with the works and some oblits but wasn't sure what other people were doing. I'd LIKE to try terminators because I like what they are but I feel like they are too pricey for Death Guard to be built just for Termicide.Any ideas would be awesome. I'm open to anything except Typhus and Zombies specifically as it doesn't interest me much (and I'm working on Tzeentch Daemons and don't want to paint 40+ zombies ontop of my 40+ blue horrors).

Bikers, bikers, more bikers. Lord and Sorceror on bike.
Terminators with melta or plasma.
Havocs with autocannons.
5-man CSM squads with plasma in rhinos.

Oblits are ok, but you want Vectorium so you need to run the formation, which requires a warpsmith tax and a large unit to make the most advantage of guidance rituals.

Winged daemon prince with black mace.

How would you suggest the sorcerer and daemon prince be kitted out besides a bike and the black mace?

TBH plague colony itself is pretty competitive.

Use the DG nesting doll detachment and take terminators with combi melta and you are pretty set.

Not necessary to get the -1 toughness debuff, the -1 WS and -1I go a long way.

At 1850 points you can get:

Plague colony-core
3 units of 5 plague Marines with 2 plasma and champ has powerfists in rhinos with havoc launchers
2 units of 5 plague Marines with 2 flamers
Typhus

Command-lords of the legion
2 Sorcerer with MoN and +1 mastery level

Aux- Term annh force
Terminator Sorcerer with MoN and +1 mastery level
3 units of terminators, each has MoN and 2 combi melta

And should have 25 pts to spare.

I kind of overlooked the plague colony only because the warband is objective secured

A) Do not buy any models until the new book comes out. Everything is likely going to change.

B) Trying to figure out an army list for a book that isn't out is pointless. The moment the book comes out all of a sudden everything changes.

I have been a Spawn spammer since 6th edition, and even though they dont get any specific buff out of the Traitor legions book (besides infinite solo spawn (AMAZING) I would almost always value them over Bikers.

My bikes underperform every time. Even with high toughness, armor saves and a jink, weight of fire always destroys them. But other people swear by them. Ive also never got "points back" on Autocannon Havocs but at least we got relentless now, so they're more appealing.

Right now all our beatstick HQs got boosted with FNP so thats one place to start. Lords, Princes, and Sorcerers (if you build around warpcharges and spell familiars).

I would also auto include Heldrakes into every list. Ap3 torrent template is gonna be the best shooting the codex gets.

Evrything else depends on flavor. I use Oblits as my special/heavy weapons teams so the Cult of Destruction fits perfectly into my builds.

With Traitor Legions you can only take 1-3 units of spawn, only in Traitors Hate and the Black Crusade Detachment you may take "infinite solo spawn".
For me neither bikes nor spawn had overwhelming effect, both are just a transport for the lord, but bikes at least have an armour save and special weapons.
Autocannons don't destroy much, I think they are more of a destraction, as you force a lot of saves on most things.
Agreed on Oblits. Cult of Destruction is awesome and with a warpsmith even has some nice close combat abilites. Pump double oblit shots into the enemy and attack with 9power fist and 6 power axe attacks. Don't do it against lychguard or wulfen though.

Don't know where you are getting that mate as 1-3 units of spawn count as a single AUX choice, you can take as much of the same AUX as you want there is nothing preventing someone (apart from point cost and common sense) from taking a super cheap core plus as much spawn as possible it's the same how I can take multiple daemon engines in a KDK detachment
