They are looking good. You have good control and all of your colors are in the right places.

A couple of easy things you can do to take them to the next level:

Give some of the colors that are having trouble with coverage a second, thin coat

Try using a wash or ink to shade the recesses

Highlight some of the more prominent edges with a lighter shade

Paint the rim of the base in a color that compliments the finished product

Will do! Thank you for the response I'm glad I finally picked up Warhammer... Super fun and the minis are so awesome!

The minis are awesome indeed... too awesome.

Looks like you just picked up the Dark Vengeance set, right? I have been out of this since about 3rd edition but after seeing the figures in DV I had to pick it up and get an army started, too. The sculpting and printing they are doing now is just top notch and they have some really cool stuff.

There's always a lot of work to do but don't get discouraged! You're off to a great start and there are a couple of super quick and easy techniques you can pick up to get your guys to "tabletop standard" in no time. For example, if you wash each guy in Nuln Oil or equivalent and then highlight a few edges you will be very surprised how much life it adds.

Have fun and keep posting your progress!

An easy way to make your bases look more real with static grass is to put some pea gravel down in random places before you put the grass on. Two layers of red really helped me out before i started to layer my colors. Great start though!
