Just been looking over discussions on 8th ed etc

Apparently, high Strength weapons may become the "Meta" as they can Cleave though anything (Due to Vehicles now having the same profile type as infantry) and thus Universal but Struggle vs Hordes (as they have a low number of shots)
And Ex-Template/Blasts will be the Counter to hordes

And what do Death Korps have in Droves?
Artillery
A LOT of High Strength Artillery, that Mulches Though Hordes

So, will the Blast Changes ruin Death Korps? Or will the High Strength of their guns Edge them out?

Why not, I don't know, wait until we have all the rules and point costs?

Pretty hard to start running around in caps locks panicking that a fairly minor FW list may or may not be broken or ruined.

As with everything in the new edition, we really don't know. But they are going on about how it'll be the most balanced edition ever, so I have some faith that the Death Korps won't be bah-roken, maybe just strong. Which is perfectly fine and I'd love to see it happen.

I am more concerned that GW/FW will not release unique rules for the DKoK siege and assault brigade armies. Has anyone heard anything from FW concerning their 40k armies and the transition to 8th?

I heard FW will be updating all their 40k armies to 8th alongside GW. Granted, that was from a friend who said he read it online, but they did it with their fantasy miniatures when they transitioned to Age of Sigmar, so I don't see why 40k would be any different

Until we see unit, weapon and special rules profiles for dkok this is mostly pie in the sky unfortunately.

Normal IG have just as much access to blast stuff, they can get all the DKoK toys. We havent seen what blast weapons will really loom like yet or how FW will handle the army.

I just want to be able to run my Grenadier Assault Brigade and have an even chance at winning a game against Eldar

In the FAQ on this new Edition that was released earlier this week, GW said that FW models for 40k will have rules released at 8th ed Launch.

Its not looking good, that's for sure.

And with the low rend value, I doubt a mechanized Grenadier list will do well.

We have about 3% maximum of the information about 8th. Way too early to claim the sky is falling.
