Hi guys,

I used to play back in the day. Necrons were my army and I was very much a 'build it to play with it' kind of guy with minimal focus on painting.

Now I want to get back in with more of a focus on the painting and I want to field some Tau (fell in love with them in DoW).

My issue is that I've priced up a "start collecting" set as well as all the paints and brushes I'll need for a Vior'La scheme and it comes to ~£140!!! Now this is a lot of money to just drop on something that I might not even take up properly!

Is there a cheaper way to do this to see if I actually like it before I spend that kind of moola?

Thanks!

Look for shops like Darksphere or Elemental Games that offer a 15-20% discount. Crawl for Ebay, just today I bought a Deathwathc Overkill! for 85€ totally new in box and sprues and two Start Colectings for 30€ each.

Buy brushes from Armypainter for example and paints from Vallejo, they are better brushes and cheaper, and more paint for the cost, respectively.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.
