Ok, so long story short, a friend of mine built up a notable marine force in 40k from several chapters. He wants to try and use them in 30k as Shattered Legions.

So I think, ok, might as well. I figured I would do Shattered (Traitor) Legions to match. I have some Thousand Sons, but to fit the theme better I was wondering what Traitor Legions would fit.

I know his main force is Dark Angels, and he has Ultramarines, Blood Angels, and Space Wolves. Are there any traitors that have an above normal level of hatred for those Legions?

I've only glimpsed through Inferno, but I remember something in the TS entry about no allies, idk if that's accurate or not though.

So far what I have though is what could pass as a Praetor, 10 Tartaros Sekhmet, and 20 'Vet' Rubricae.

Would it be best to keep them as a smaller force and pick another legion as my Primary force? I am looking to ally 2 traitors with them, but I'm not sure what exactly is fluffy?

If he has Ultramarines then Word Bearers could be a good choice, plus the gal vorbrak look like fun.

There is nothing stopping thousand sons from taking allies.

I second word bearers for cool factor.
If you take WB primary you can run the RoW for daemon allies for maximum traitorage.

Other allies could be... uh .. dunno night Lords/ iron warriorss maybe. Sons of Horus could be fun. Maybe not world eaters or death guard.

Ok, so Word Bearers does have a pretty cool theme, and they have some nifty assault units.
