So they give one of the big races to the new guy... and... poor Squats

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Can't blame him, really.

NONE of the writers at GW knew what to do with them - since they didn't really do anything different than guard or marines already did.

Jes came up with a design that has endured. That the PLs are 23 years old, and apart from a "little" scale creep for the rest of the game, still look pretty damned good.

And yes, the Harlequins and whole laughing god (as one of the not dead ones) did predate WD127. I believe they were around WD95/96.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Great read. It's cool to see how much thought and research actually went into creating the Eldar.

Now, get this man producing new Phoenix Lord minis ASAP!

How? By designign eldars?

At least I read that so that he got space elves because he was new and they weren't thought to be as selling as space soldiers and space dwarves both which were given to somebody else as they were deemed as more important than the space elves.

Jes Goodwin and 2nd ed. are why I ever batted an eye at 40K. Seriously. Wonderful minis - nice to see him address the nit-picks that a lot of folks have with a few of the Phoenix Lords.

That was a neat little interview I must say, the Eldar background is the reason I got into 40k and the reason I'm still here. It's honestly a feat of imagination, and utterly full of nuance. The deeper you look at it, the more and more stuff you find as you start to connect seemingly unrelated dots.

Really brilliant stuff

Oh, and I've come up with a semi-expanded Shadow War idea and need some feedback! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/726439.page

Lastly I contribute to a blog too! http://objectivesecured.blogspot.co.uk/ Check it out! It's not just me

If you look at the solo module for D&D, O2: Blade of Vengeance, you can see a lot of the groundwork for what would become HE/Eldar for GW.

When was that published? IIRC, Warhammer High Elves were using that Persian Immortal look back in 3rd edition, too.
