Hello I believe this is the right place to post this,
But I was looking for advice on painting a space marine scheme (you know like make a new chapter for the new edition)
I was thinking like pre heresy space wolves grey and white helmets with white shoulder pads.
And I was hoping to hear some opinions about this scheme, and also help in how I could make it like for example I have no idea how to paint the white (what would be the best colours to use to get a bright clean white)

Welcome to Dakka!

Adapting an existing scheme is always a good place to start, there's a reason they're the ones that get shown and it's because they work! White helmets and pads would certainly set them apart from the Wolves, especially if you can work in some non-wolfy icons and stylistic choices (maybe go for a more Greco-Roman style like some Ultramarines/BA stuff?).

As for the white itself, starting from grey will do a lot of the work for you; it gives you a nice base over which you can paint a very light grey and highlight up to pure white.

All I'd think about adding is a nice spot colour just to stop them looking too monochrome (use it for the bolter casing, squad/company markings, that sort of stuff). Red and yellow are associated with SW markings so maybe steer clear of those for now. A nice dark purple might work quite well against the grey and white. Something like this:

thank you for replaying and the advice, (especially about the white and tips to change the icons)
I do agree with your advice to add some new colour (but the picture does not work)
purple may work but its not my favourite colour to use (though it does look good on capes)
would maybe green like in a line down the helmet vent for Sargent's
and maybe the chapter mark i chose i could make green or some other colour.
either way thank you for the advice.

If its only going to be the helmets and shoulder pads then do sub assemblies and leave the helmets and shoulder pads off. prime those white.
